Well, this can’t be good for Thanksgiving cheer.
After nearly eight years of President Obama, it seems terrorism isn’t quite the small problem some would have America believe. Even after the commander-in-chief himself said ISIS was on the run, and his various administration officials said the borders were safe and fears of infiltration and attack were largely unfounded.
At least not this holiday season, anyway.
“The FBI is alerting police across the country about a potential terrorist attack around Thanksgiving,” CBS Boston reported.
More to point: A terrorist attack, or several, could come from the cells already located on U.S. soil.
“[The threat] specifically warns of homegrown terrorists,” CBS Boston reported. “Potential targets? Shopping malls, special events, crowded venues – locations in Washington, D.C., and Virginia [are] described as target-rich zones.”
ISIS, for example, labeled the Macy’s Parade in New York City as an ideal event to attack, in one of its recent terror magazine articles.
The FBI red-flags guns, IEDs or drone with IEDs as possible weapons. And in Boston, the high alert’s already gone out across the community.
“We’re going to have more visibility out on the streets,” said Boston Mayor Marty Walsh, CBS Boston reported. “People are going to see more police officers out there.”
So much for Obama’s JV team – ISIS – or for his administration’s so-called magical diplomatic abilities to tamp down terrorist threats through dialogue, discussion and appeals for the common good.
