As well-meaning Americans, we can be forgiven for having a hard time when it comes to understanding the issues. While there are clear and effective solutions for the problems facing our nation, often they are obscured by other factors by our leaders.
Political rivalries and, let’s just say it, childishness can cause sensible plans to be thwarted, just because someone from another party suggested them. This is particularly true for democrats, who often oppose plans put forward by republicans, simply to spite them.
This kind of political bullying is nothing new. President George W. Bush was prevented from making desperately needed reforms to Social Security by a bitter democrat majority in Congress.
And this is especially true during the 2016 election. While Hillary Clinton spouts plans that are nakedly in support of her donors overseas, Donald Trump is offering solutions that will help the American public. Yet the liberal media and democrat opponents attack his plans, especially in the area of illegal immigration.
But what these critics don’t say is that another president had the same agenda, one that was championed by the left.
From Conservative Tribune:
Former Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson pointed out a few things former President Bill Clinton said in a video years ago that should embarrass him, his wife and the entire Democrat Party.
Carson appeared on Fox News’ “Fox News Sunday” this weekend and pointed out that Clinton’s stance on the deportation of illegal immigrants is eerily similar to that of Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump…
During Clinton’s address, he said that Americans had a right to oppose illegal immigration because illegal immigrants take American jobs and they become burdens to taxpayers.
“We are a nation of immigrants. But we are also a nation of laws,” Clinton said. “It is wrong and ultimately self-defeating for a nation of immigrants to permit the kind of abuse of our immigration laws we have seen in recent years, and we must do more to stop it.”
That 1995 speech was heralded with riotous support from democrats across the country. Yet when Trump puts forward a similar, no-compromising agenda, he is branded a racist and bigot by the same liberals.
Make no mistake: Hillary’s intent to keep our borders open and welcome millions of refugees is a terrible plan. Even the left knows it will damage our economy, put a costly burden on our cities and states, and create an atmosphere for terrorism.
But the left refuses to acknowledge it because it’s Clinton’s idea.
Now is the time to forget what the mainstream media is telling you and listen to the facts. Focus on what the candidates are saying, not what the media wants you to believe. Does a candidate have America’s best interests at heart, or does their plans create greater burdens for our country?
When you look at things that way, the answer becomes clear.
