Despite what liberal critics claimed, the Republican National Convention was a smooth, successful event. There were some protests, to be sure, but it was nothing like the mess the Democratic National Convention is turning out to be.
There have been protests in Philadelphia since Sunday. No speaker has been able to endorse Hillary without choruses of boo’s. Groups from all over the country–from Bernie Sanders supporters to activists for other causes–have come out in droves to voice their outrage over the DNC nominee and other leadership.
It’s clear there is a large contingent of Democrats who have felt betrayed by their party. They ignored their concerns, disregarded their candidate, and even colluded to manipulate the cause of democracy.
From The Wall Street Journal:
At a lively Sunday march in support of former Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders, chants of “lock her up,” “Hillary for Prison” signs and t-shirts and calls for indictment were common among the most ardent supporters of Mr. Sanders, who arrived in Philadelphia to make their voices heard to the delegates attending the Democratic National Convention.
Republicans used last week’s Republican National Convention to make the case that Mrs. Clinton’s perceived ethical lapses made her unfit for office. Delegates to the Republican convention could be heard chanting “Lock her up!” while “Hillary for Prison” shirts and bumper stickers have proliferated across the country.
It seems like there’s some common ground between Democrats and Republicans: their utter disdain for Hillary Clinton. Very few can refuse the reality that she lied, broke the law, and tried to cover up her shady dealings. Clinton may try to ignore the issue; she may get her cronies to look the other way, but the fact is, America isn’t forgetting.
It should be noted that the writer of this WSJ article is another Hillary crony, saying “Mrs. Clinton hasn’t been accused of any criminal wrongdoing.” Uh, she lied under oath. She mishandled and broke a litany of federal laws and regulations. Just because FBI Director Comey dropped the ball, doesn’t mean she’s in the clear.
But even with the WSJ trying to protect their candidate, they can’t deny the reality that she is losing ground. Democrats are turning against her, at their most important event of the year.
Come November, who knows how few supporters she’ll have left?
