Since the news surfaced about Democratic presidential favorite, Hillary Clinton’s, health problems getting more serious, there has been much speculation about who her replacement might be.
In the group of front runners there’s Joe Biden, who suffers from permanent foot-in-mouth disease, Bernie Sanders, the peoples’ welfare sugar daddy, and Virginia Senator, Tim Kaine, the “Liberation Theology” candidate.
Of course none of these options are even remotely palatable for Conservatives looking for a fresh start after the debacle known as the Obama administration ends in January of 2017.
We’re all hoping for a Trump victory in November but the possibility must be considered that he might not be able to pull it off.
In the latest Rasmussen poll, we discover which candidate the voters are most likely to lean towards as Hillary’s replacement in the ‘unlikely’ event she has to drop out for health reasons:
The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 48% of Likely Democratic Voters believe Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders, Clinton’s primary rival, should be their party’s nominee if health issues forced her out of the race. Twenty-two percent (22%) say Vice President Joe Biden should be the nominee, while only 14% opt for Virginia Senator Tim Kaine, the current Democratic vice presidential candidate. Nine percent (9%) of Democrats think it should be someone else. (To see survey question wording, click here.)
Among all likely voters, it’s a closer contest. Thirty-six percent (36%) choose Sanders, 20% Biden and 14% Kaine. But 21% think the Democratic nominee should be someone else.
The issue of Hillary’s health being covered too much in the news also came up:
A plurality (46%) of voters believes the media is giving too much coverage to Clinton’s health issues. Twenty-eight percent (28%) say there’s not enough coverage, while 21% rate the level of coverage as about right.
Not surprisingly, 63% of Democrats think there is too much coverage of Clinton’s health problems, a view shared by only 35% of Republicans and 39% of voters not affiliated with either major political party.
That a candidate for president of the US should release their medical history so we can find out if he or she is going to drop dead soon, is of major importance that cannot be disputed. We don’t wish anything as serious as that upon Hillary or any other candidate, but we would like to know who we might end up with so we can all adjust our apocalypse clocks accordingly!
