In order not to sound like a ‘conspiracy nut’ Republican presidential candidate, Donald Trump, came clean and pronounced President Barack Obama a natural born citizen in spite of the fact that the issue is still anything but resolved in the minds of many Americans.
It was recently revealed that it was the Hillary Clinton campaign which was the original “rumor mill” that started it all back in 2008. Her campaign manager from the ’08 election even admitted it was someone on her staff that originated it.
Patti Solis Doyle, who was Hillary Clinton’s campaign manager in 2008 until the Iowa caucuses, admitted on Friday that a Clinton campaign staffer had, in fact, circulated the Birther conspiracy theory that Barack Obama was born outside the U.S. and therefore potentially ineligible to serve in the presidency.
Doyle admitted in a tweet to former George W. Bush spokesman Ari Fleischer and later to CNN’s Wolf Blitzer that it was a Clinton staff member that started the rumor and not Clinton, herself.
Republican nominee, Donald Trump, tried to put the rumor to rest by stating:
Hillary Clinton and her campaign of 2008 started the Birther controversy. I finished it. I finished it. You know what I mean. President Barack Obama was born in the United States, period. Now we all want to get back to making America strong and great again. Thank you very much.
Whether or not the birther issue is completely settled in the minds of Americans will be a topic of speculation for decades to come. Since Barack Obama’s reign of terror is soon to end, hopefully, the bigger issue at hand is whether we want another four and possibly eight years of a female Obama clone named Hillary Clinton. A Trump presidency will spare us all from having to suffer under such a nightmare!
