So close to the end of his 8 years in office, Barack Obama thinks he can get away with anything now.
Obamacare was clearly unconstitutional as it was jammed through the House and Senate. Directives on school bathrooms for the transgendered was handed down from on high. But the Constitutional law professor has always had his excuses. But this time he has been caught in a direct lie that is tantamount to criminality and treason.
His own State Department has now disagreed with Obama’s comments from only weeks ago, which were suspect to the public and even the media from the moment he spoke them.
The New York Post reports:
The State Department admitted Thursday that the US would not hand over $400 million in cash to Iran until it released four American hostages — two weeks after President Obama insisted the payment was not a “ransom.”
State Department spokesman John Kirby was asked at Thursday’s press briefing: “In basic English, you’re saying you wouldn’t give them $400 million in cash until the prisoners were released, correct?”
“That’s correct,” Kirby replied.
So the ransom was paid. America—no, Obama—directly paid terrorists for the release of our hostages. Not only did he directly contradict this allegation, it’s the way he said it that has people shocked:
In an Aug. 4 press conference, President Obama said the opposite.
“We do not pay ransom. We didn’t here, and we won’t in the future,” the president told reporters, speaking of the Jan. 17 payment and hostage release.
Families “know we have a policy that we don’t pay ransom. And the notion that we would somehow start now, in this high-profile way, and announce it to the world, even as we’re looking in the faces of other hostage families whose loved ones are being held hostage, and saying to them ‘We don’t pay ransom,’ defies logic,” Obama added at the time.
He lectured the press for even raising the issue.
So he lied to the American people and to the families of current hostages. He lied to and berated the press for doing their job. But lying is one thing. Hillary is used to it. But paying terrorists, especially without authorization, and covering it up is something else entirely. This will cast a long shadow over Hillary’s run as the Republican House and Senate decide how to handle such a blatantly anti-American action.
