Trump has vowed to undo many of Obama’s undemocratic executive orders once he steps into the Oval Office.

However, Trump has already been seen by some of his supporters as waffling on some key provisions of Obamacare, which he vowed on the campaign trail to “repeal and replace.” This change of heart reportedly occurred during the president elect’s 90-minute meeting with Obama.

Playing off Trump’s wavering, Obama is now asking the president-elect to consider upholding the controversial DACA and DAPA executive orders designed to let certain children of illegals to remain in the United States, if they themselves were “anchor babies” born on U.S. soil.

Charlie Spiering of Breitbart reports on Obama’s latest request:

“I will urge the president-elect and the incoming administration to think long and hard before they are endangering the status of what for all practical purposes are American kids,” Obama said.

Obama’s controversial DACA and DAPA executive orders were criticized for lacking permanent protection for children of illegal immigrants and their parents, but activists were hopeful that Obama would be succeeded by a Democrat or a Republican more sympathetic to their plight.

“By definition, if they’re part of this program, they are solid, wonderful young people of good character,” Obama said.

Such a move would be unpopular with Donald Trump’s base. The backlash could be devastating for a new president eager to show that he is a man of his word.
