Trump fans who settled in to watch the final presidential debate wondered what kind of moderator Chris Wallace of Fox News would make. During the previous showdowns, moderators challenged and interrupted Trump far more than they did Clinton. Would Wallace be any different?
That’s why many of them were cheering when Wallace dared to raise allegations about Hillary’s corruption and influence peddling when she was Secretary of State.
Christian Datoc reports at the Daily Caller:
“There have been a lot of developments over the last ten days since the last debate,” Wallace posed. These are questions that the American people have, Secretary Clinton, during your 2009 Senate confirmation hearing, you promised to avoid even the appearance of a conflict of interest with your dealing with the Clinton Foundation while you were Secretary of State.
“Emails show that donors got special access to you,” he continued. “Can you really say you kept your pledge to that Senate committee, and what happened and what went on between you and the Clinton Foundation? Why isn’t it what Mr. Trump calls pay to play?”
Not suprisingly, Clinton tried to avoid the question but Wallace didn’t back down:
“Secretary, respectfully, this is an open discussion,” Wallace noted. “A specific question went to pay for play. Do you want to address that?”
Clinton didn’t do so to anyone’s satisfaction.
If only Chris Wallace had moderated the first debate instead of the last one…
