During the election campaign, the FBI investigations into the Clinton Foundation was one of the hottest issues around. Not surprisingly, many forgot about this criminal probe after Trump’s win, but now it is back in the news.
A number of FBI field offices were reportedly looking into the Foundation a few months ago. As it turns out, these investigations have now been confirmed as ongoing, according to the Daily Caller:
The instructions [from FBI headquarters] ordered agents to “go forward” with their ongoing inquiry into the Clinton Foundation which is focusing on issues of corruption and money laundering, according to the source.
“There were no instructions to shut it down, to discontinue or to stand down on the investigation, but to continue its work,” the former official told the Daily Caller News Foundation in an interview.
He said he received this information about a week ago and that the order originated from the bureau’s headquarters in Washington, D.C. well after the November 8 election. He did not know who at FBI Headquarters issued the order.
One of the many reasons to be happy about a Trump victory is knowing that whatever the Bureau discovers, it will not interfere with the workings of the executive branch, which would have been the case under a President Hillary Clinton.
Imagine a sitting president having to testify at some kind of criminal trial! No, America dodged a bullet by electing Donald Trump.
