Lying under oath is a crime, but by now everyone knows that the Clintons and their comrades operate under another set of laws. They’re exempt from the rules and ever after they’re caught, can get away with a slap on the wrist.
The FBI shocked the nation when they announced that they uncovered thousands of emails during their investigation into Anthony Weiner, the estranged husband of Hillary Clinton’s top aide Huma Abedin. These emails could be relevant to the separate case of Clinton’s use of an illegal private email server.
This revelation poses a new question: Does this contradict Abedin’s sworn testimony?
…[N]ew information that the FBI found State Department-related email on her home laptop also calls into question whether Abedin in fact turned over all of the devices she used to send and receive email while working at State.
On June 28, 2016, Abedin said under oath in a sworn deposition that she looked for all devices that she thought contained government work on them so the records could be given to the State Department. (These records were subsequently reviewed by the FBI.)
“I looked for all the devices that may have any of my State Department work on it and returned — returned — gave them to my attorneys for them to review for all relevant documents. And gave them devices and paper,” Abedin answered.
But it seems obvious that one of the devices should have been the laptop she reportedly shared with her husband.
Clinton’s defenders are saying that these new and potentially damaging emails are probably just copies of the ones everyone already knows about. However, an unnamed law enforcement official told Fox News that was unlikely.
What’s frustrating is having all these scandals coming to light just a week before one of the most important elections in US history. Even if Clinton, Abedin and others on that team are guilty of criminal activity, their fate won’t be decided in court until after the election, if then.
