This primary season has been contentious and ugly.
The Republican race started out with 17 candidates and has winnowed to 3.
Much of the wreckage of former candidates along the path to the nomination is a direct result of the withering attacks by Donald Trump. Whether Jeb Bush, Rand Paul, Ben Carson, Carly Fiorina or many others, Trump’s verbal jabs have done real and lasting damage.
No one more so than “Little” Marco Rubio, whose disastrous attempt at counter punching ultimately doomed his campaign. But now it seems that he is ready to let bygones be bygones and throw his support behind Trump.
Red State has the story…
While not a complete reversal of the contentious rhetoric that was often the focus of his last few weeks in the race, Florida Senator Marco Rubio is ready to lend his support to the New York liberal, Donald Trump.
Quoting Rubio to the Washington Examiner…
“I’ve always said I’m going to support the Republican nominee, and that’s especially true now that it’s apparent that Hillary Clinton is going to be the Democratic candidate,” Rubio said.
What a long strange trip it’s been.
