Most Americans who live along the Mexico border understand the need for tighter security measures.
Many have backed Trump’s insistence on building a wall, believing it to be the most effective way to stop the tide of illegals, criminals, and terrorists into our country.
His stance has brought plenty of criticism, mostly from the left and liberal media.
But one voice that shouted above the rest was former Mexican President Vicente Fox.
Earlier in the year he had some choice words for Trump and his wall, calling him “Ignorant … crazy … egocentric … nasty … [a] false prophet.” Trump’s response was to ask the man to apologize.
It seems that Trump’s request has been heard.
In an interview with Breitbart, Fox has openly apologized to Donald Trump and asked that he come visit Mexico.
“I apologize. Forgiveness is one of the greatest qualities that human beings have, is the quality of a compassionate leader. You have to be humble. You have to be compassionate. You have to love thy neighbor,” Fox explained to Breitbart News while sitting in the hotel of the J.W. Marriott in Santa Monica, California on Wednesday afternoon.
Fox seems to hold to his earlier view, however, suggesting Trump’s plan to build a wall was unsound.
But he’s trying to build a bridge between Mexico and the Presidential front runner.
He must see what many already see, that Trump has a good chance of becoming President of the Unite States. Don’t want to be on his bad side, eh?
He invited Trump to view the Mexican border on their side. Not sure what that will help accomplish, seeing as Trump is currently busy trying to win an election. But it’s clear that Trump’s strong words towards Mexico are having an effect and they are doing their best to avoid his wrath. Should he become President, a lot will change between their country and ours.
