Fox News has been making headlines over the past several months due to numerous changes.
Producers and newscasters alike have been leaving the network, and entire programs are moving around time slots. As a result of these changes, reports about the network’s future have not been too positive.
Nevertheless, Fox News recently announced a positive change. It has officially hired a conservative superstar as its newest correspondent.
As reported by HuffPost:
A Fox press release confirms that Chaffetz will make his network debut on July 1, and he’ll contribute to both Fox News and Fox Business. (Politico first reported in May that Chaffetz was considering joining the network.)
Chaffetz, seen as a rising star within the Republican Party, shocked Washington, D.C., in April when he announced he wouldn’t seek reelection in 2018.
“For those that would speculate otherwise, let me be clear that I have no ulterior motives,” Chaffetz wrote on his Facebook page. “I have made a personal decision to return to the private sector.”
He then announced in May he would step down on June 30, ending his term a year and a half early.
Jason Chaffetz will make an outstanding addition to the Fox News lineup.
Even though he has received an enormous amount of criticism from Democrats and Republicans alike, Chaffetz still has a strong conservative rating from FreedomWorks.
In fact, the vast majority of those who criticize Chaffetz do so because they are afraid of his tough commitment to conservative values.
Democrats are afraid of Chaffetz’s unique ability to rip apart their scandals. For example, he was one of the first congressional representatives to look into Hillary’s conduct during the Benghazi disaster and coverup.
Anti-Trump Republicans, on the other hand, resent the fact that Chaffetz refused to be swept up in the Trump-Russia hysteria. They wanted to see him investigate the president, but Chaffetz knew better than to join the witch hunt.
A combination of both this pressure and Chaffetz’s desire to spend more time with his family led him to announce that he intends to leave Congress in a few days. Fortunately, Fox News quickly hired the outgoing representative to join their programming.
Though it will be sad to see Chaffetz leave Congress, it will be exciting to hear him speak more openly on the news.
Chaffetz has a fascinating perspective on government corruption, and he is extremely dedicated to justice. He will surely provide good insight for Fox News.
