The tragic passing of Justice Antonin Scalia was incredibly shocking and upsetting to conservatives.
Scalia’s dedication to the Constitution made his presence on the Supreme Court a much needed voice for those that value our nation’s fundamental document.
Which of course meant that liberals sickeningly rejoiced at the news of Scalia’s death.
Nevertheless, the open vacancy on the Supreme Court was a turning point in the election. Many that were on the fence about voting for Trump decided to rally behind him in order to prevent Hillary Clinton from appointing one of her liberal lemmings.
Many put their faith in Trump to fulfill his promise to appoint a Scalia-like Justice, and it’s clear he made a stellar pick with Gorsuch. During his hearing, Gorsuch has shown that he embodies much of what Scalia stood for, including respect for the rule of law.
For instance, take this exchange between Gorsuch and Senator Lindsey Graham.
Gorsuch’s answer has excited people on both sides of the political spectrum.
Like Scalia, Neil Gorsuch is pro-life. However, also like Scalia, he understands that Justices are not legislators.
Gorusch’s answer proves he is more dedicated to respecting what his role as a judge allows him to do than promoting his own personal beliefs.
While it’s still possible for Roe V. Wade to be overturned, it’s not up to Gorsuch to make it happen. It is up to us to demand our GOP controlled Congress pass legislation to overturn it, and restore the right to life for this nation’s unborn children.
