Hillary Clinton might want to pay better attention to what comes out of her mouth …
When she recently accused those who support such mantras as “make America great again” as being rooted in racist thought, she probably was hoping nobody would notice someone very near and dear her heart had once advocated the same thing. Guess who?
The blog YesImRight has the scoop on the person – and it’s none other than Bill Clinton.
“Oh Democrats,” YesImRight chided, “how ridiculous you are. First, you think that putting America first is selfish and backward and insensitive to other cultures. What putting America first means is that we want to elevate American lives, and THEN look outward to help.”
That’s what Donald Trump has recommended consistently with his “Make America Great Again” mantra that has meant such things as tightening the border – to protect American citizens from illegal immigrants and from terrorists – and forging trade deals that actually put U.S. business ahead of foreign nations.
“But again, the Democrats think that slogan is, for some reason, racist,” the blog wrote.
Yet while running for president in 1991 and 1992 and in a campaign ad for his wife in 2008, it was Hillary’s own husband, Bill, who campaigned on that mantra.
“Yes that’s right, the Democrats’ lord and savior Bill Clinton,” YesImRight said, “according to himself and other Democrats, is a racist. Liberal logic. I will never understand it.”
As Fox News reported, the 42nd president himself slammed those who called to “Make America Great Again” was code for racist, just a few days ago, while campaigning for his wife.
He said: “I’m actually old enough to remember the good old days, and they weren’t all that good in many ways. That message where ‘I’ll give you America great again’ is if you’re a white Southerner, you know exactly what that means, don’t you?”
