Elections in America are supposed to be about the issues and policies of the candidate considered most likely to effect a positive change.
In this election cycle, however, Americans have been so deeply divided, some even to the point of being radicalized, that our system appears to be in a crisis.
Some states have even bandied about the idea of secession over the election of Donald Trump, but never has America been so close to the possibility of a civil war over the country’s latest choice for a Commander-in-Chief!
The electoral college was created to give states with smaller populations an equal say with the more populous ones, like New York, as to who got elected. But there are some angry Hillary Clinton voters who want to overturn the results of that system.
From World Net Daily:
One of Michigan’s 16 electors who will be called upon to cast a vote validating the election of Donald Trump in the Electoral College has testified on video that he and others in the state are receiving “dozens and dozens of death threats” from Hillary Clinton supporters urging them to switch their votes to Clinton.
On Dec. 19 the Electoral College will convene to cast their votes for either Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton, with each state’s electors pledged to vote for the candidate elected on Nov. 8 in their state.
But more than a dozen states have no laws making it illegal for the electors to change their vote while others have only a minor penalty such as a fine for doing so. If Clinton’s supporters can get enough of the 163 electors from states where Trump both won and votes can be legally switched on Dec. 19, Hillary Clinton becomes the next president of the United States.
According to the law, making death threats is supposed to be a felony punishable by imprisonment but emailed threats are hard to trace and prosecute.
Michael Banerian, 22, of Oakland County, Michigan, is one of that state’s 16 official electors who will meet in the state capital of Lansing on Dec. 19 to cast their votes for Trump. He told The Detroit News Thursday he has received threatening emails, lots of them, from people telling him to vote for Democrat Clinton instead of the GOP victor he is pledged to support. Trump won Michigan’s popular vote and should be able to count on the 16 electoral votes in that state.
Banerian isn’t the only elector to receive death threats either:
Clinton-backers are targeting roughly 160 Republican electorates in the 15 states that Trump won and don’t have laws bounding the electorates to the winner: Arizona, Arkansas, Georgia, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Missouri, North Dakota, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Utah and West Virginia.
All through the election campaign, we watched Hillary pull every dirty trick in the book to steal the election from Trump and even after conceding the election, she stands by ready to plunge one more knife into his back.
America wants to be rid of the Obama/Clinton era, drain the swamp and put all the corruption behind us but it seems Hillary and the radical left have other, more sinister, ideas!
