Ever since Donald Trump’s daughter Ivanka began campaigning on behalf of her father, the left has had her in its sights.
The attacks against her have been scathing and completely uncalled for. Everything from her character to her intelligence have been criticized by the left, with one rabid liberal even attacking her on a plane in front of her children.
Even Nordstrom’s decided to drop Ivanka Trump’s clothing line in an unprecedented display of discrimination.
For her part, Ivanka has exuded grace and confidence in the face of these new trials. She has taken to being in the political eye like a duck to water, and has now made her role in her father’s administration official.
From BBC News:
Ivanka Trump is officially joining her father’s administration as an unpaid employee with the title Assistant to the President, the White House says.
The US first daughter bowed to pressure following an outcry from ethics experts at her initial plans to serve in a more informal capacity.
Ms Trump, 35, said she had “heard the concerns some have with my advising the president in my personal capacity”.
Ivanka’s attempts to address these concerns are admirable considering liberals have rarely deigned to do the same.
She did have to pay a price to serve the American people, in the form of giving up something dear she created and fixed her name to:
She has passed management of her eponymous fashion label to the company president and established a trust for oversight.
For example, Democrats never raised concerns over nepotism when John F. Kennedy’s brother Robert advised his brother and was appointed to attorney general.
There also was no outcry from the left when Hillary Clinton repeatedly stepped outside her authority as First Lady by single-handedly forcing health care onto her husband’s agenda, as well as pressuring him to appoint people in his administration that were loyal to her.
Ivanka has done nothing quite so scandalous, despite the left’s desperate attempts to depict the whole family as corrupt. Now that she is officially an Assistant to the President, it’s safe to say that we should expect great things from Ivanka Trump!
