We’ve had a very short respite this summer from the constant terrorist attacks around the world. For a while it seemed like all good citizens were under threat from radical, Islamic terror. Every week some place in Europe or American was under fire from ISIS or its legions of disciples.
Slowly the world is waking up to this near and present danger. They are taking greater steps to prevent more bloodshed from occurring. Yet it’s not enough. We may be able to catch terrorists before they strike, but until we eradicate them from their nests abroad, they will always pose a danger.
What about the ones we fail to catch?
From Hot Air:
A French intelligence officer was stabbed while arresting three women believed to have been planning an imminent terror attack in Paris. At least one of the women is connected to a car filled with gas canisters which was found parked near Notre Dame cathedral Sunday morning. From the AP:
The three women were detained in an operation Thursday night in Boussy-Saint-Antoine south of Paris in a “veritable race against the clock,” Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve told reporters. One of the women attacked police, and an intelligence officer was hospitalized with a knife wound to the shoulder. One suspect was also injured, Cazeneuve said.
“These radicalized, fanatic women, aged 39, 23 and 19 years old, were likely preparing new violent actions, particularly imminent,” he said. “France is confronted with a terrorist threat of unprecedented scale. … It requires the vigilance of all our compatriots.”
Thankfully they were apprehended, with minimal harm done. But it’s a reminder that people, Muslims in particular, all over the world are buying into the toxic rhetoric of ISIS. They have been radicalized, as their faith has been manipulated to convince them that war with the West is the right thing.
They believe killing innocent civilians will somehow bring about an Islamic world state. What they don’t understand is that they are creating a war that will bring the end of their own kind, as the West continues to fight against their evil influence.
