The 2016 election has already been a whirlwind of fighting, scandal, and voter fraud. Now, thanks to Montgomery Blair Sibley, things are about to get even weirder.
According to the Daily Beast, the lawyer representing the infamous “D.C. Madam,” Deborah Jeane Palfrey, has begun to release documents meant to set the political world on its head.
Deborah Jeane Palfrey
These documents are said to contain “some names of the government agencies, companies, and groups that purportedly called Palfrey’s escort service between 2000 and 2006.”
For those who’ve already forgotten, Palfrey was accused of using her Washington-based escort service as a high-class prostitution ring. Although she went to her grave denying it, the evidence, to some, was overwhelming. Now it looks like some of the names on her client list are familiar.
According to the National Enquirer, Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz is also on that list. The Cruz campaign called that report “garbage,” according to the Star-Telegram.
“Garbage” or not, that would certainly be a bombshell. It remains to be seen if Cruz’s name is actually on that list, and if his involvement in yet another scandal will derail his campaign. But it certainly does not bode well for his Presidential aspirations.
The roster includes the FBI, State Department, Department of Commerce, Department of Health and Human Services, IRS, U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command, and U.S. Coast Guard.
It sounds like quite a few Washington cronies are on this infamous list. Once all the names are released, more than a few heads will roll. Even a decade out, a revelation like this will hurt the careers and credibility of many public figures.
This is yet another example of how far removed D.C. values are from the rest of the country. Washington insiders have lived in a bubble of their own decadence and corruption for decades. Now it’s finally coming to light.
We’ll have more once the list is published.
