It’s been a while since Michael Moore has been in the headlines, and not many Americans were terribly brokenhearted about that.
The filmmaker and author went from winning Oscars and sharing a place of honor at the DNC with former president Jimmy Carter to relative obscurity when his exaggerations and hypocrisy were exposed.
Now Moore is back in the news but this time, there’s actually a good reason to listen to him. A rabid progressive, for whom Obama wasn’t left wing enough, is going against received wisdom by declaring that not only did Donald Trump win the first presidential debate, but the businessman is in line to get elected president:
Michael Moore appeared frustrated on Twitter following the presidential debate, saying Donald Trump “won” and “we all lost.”
The 62-year-old filmmaker warned “pro-Hillary gloaters” against celebrating over how Hillary Clinton did in the debate against the Republican nominee and insisted nothing she did changed things.
It’s over. Trump, the egoist, the racist, the narcissist, the liar, “won.” We all lost. His numbers will go up. She told the truth. So what.

One bad thing about a President Trump administration? It’s virtually guaranteed that Moore will emerge from hiding and start making his factually challenged, unpatriotic movies again, just like he did when George Bush was in the White House.
