With Trump only a few days into his administration, we are seeing stunning, unexpected results.
So much has already been done by the President and his people, we have to ask the question: what took so long? Why did Barack Obama refuse to take these steps for our people? Why did our government deny practical actions that would strengthen our resolve and national security?
But those days are behind us. Donald Trump is leading the charge by signing order after order that is dismantling Obama’s mark on our country. Numerous cabinet members have already been confirmed. And more is yet to come.
Already we are learning about Secretary of Defense James Mattis’ first day at work. And boy was it a doozy.
From Yes I’m Right:
Newly minted Secretary of Defense James Mattis celebrated his first full day at the Pentagon by presiding over 31 strikes against the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria…
A variety of fighters, bombers and remotely piloted aircraft engaged in the bombing run, which saw 25 strikes in Syria and six in Iraq. In Syria, two strikes destroyed ISIS units and artillery near the town of Bab. ISIS forces in Raqqa, the terrorist group’s de facto capital, took a heavy beating, as 22 strikes destroyed 12 tactical units, nine fighting positions, two underground improvised explosive bomb factories and an ISIS headquarters. The final strike targeted two ISIS oil wells in Deir ez Zour.
The airstrikes destroyed many significant resources ISIS was holding in Syria and Iraq and possibly killed one of their top leaders, ISIS’s number one in command Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi. The Sun reports that he has been critically injured by airstrikes. Coincidence? I think not.
That was Mattis’ first day. It’s not speculation to assume in the months ahead, we will be hearing about a complete dismantling of the Islamic State.
Most of the members of the Armed Forces celebrated the selection and confirmation of Mad Dog Mattis as Secretary of Defense. The decorated Marines General had a reputation of intelligence, fairness, and uncompromising resolve.
He’s not one to play games; he gets the job done.
Make no mistake, this bombardment is only the beginning of a strategic plan to eradicate ISIS and its operatives around the world, but with their forces responding so quickly, Trump is making perfectly clear that this is the beginning of the end. Very soon we will be learning about more victories over this terrible organization.
It’s about time.
