Obama never seemed to learn this lesson when it came to dealing with tyrannical world leaders. While he was president, Obama gave North Korea multiple concessions whenever the country’s brutal regime would act out. And how has Kim Jong Un rewarded Obama’s money? He has continued to test nuclear missiles.
Now President Trump is forced to try clean up this mess.
But if Kim Jong Un does decide to engage the United States in war, our military has made it clear that they are prepared to face this foe.
From The Daily Wire:
According to Army Gen. Raymond A. Thomas, the commander of Special Operations Command, U.S. special operations forces are ready to act against North Korean nuclear, missile, and other weapons of mass destruction sites if any conflict arises.
On Tuesday, Thomas told a House subcommittee that Army, Navy, and Air Force commandos are already stationed on the Korean peninsula. Thomas added, “We are actively pursuing a training path to ensure readiness for the entire range of contingency operations in which [special operations forces], to include our exquisite [countering weapons of mass destruction] capabilities, may play a critical role…
We are looking comprehensively at our force structure and capabilities on the peninsula and across the region to maximize our support to U.S. [Pacific Command] and [U.S. Forces Korea]. This is my warfighting priority for planning and support.”
If our military truly knows where all of North Korea’s nuclear sites are, then a potential war with the country could be very short.
Even though North Korea loves to make a grand show of parading its “powerful” military every year, the truth is that the country is not financially prosperous enough to compete with the U.S. on a military level. Their weapons systems are outdated and are no match for our capabilities.
North Korea knows this, but they continue to try to provoke the U.S. because they’ve been able to get away with it for decades.
Other world powers in the region, such as Russia and China, haven’t been able to stop North Korea’s missile program from becoming more radical. Therefore it’s the duty of the United States to make sure that this threat to global stability is neutralized.
Our military presence on the Korean peninsula is a sign to the world that we are ready to fight to defend our friends.
Your move, North Korea.
