Ah how we miss Michael Bloomberg. Despite his many flaws, the conservative mayor respected the rights of every New Yorker and worked tirelessly to improve their lives. But after three successful terms as mayor, he was forced to step down, allowing a vile replacement to take over.
Bill de Blasio isn’t much of a mayor. He’s benefited from the work of two Republican mayors before him, Giuliani and Bloomberg. But it seems like he’s trying very hard to tear down any progress they made.
His latest insult is his attempted to curtail Donald Trump. Although the business mogul has had a good relationship with the city for decades, it seems de Blasio is trying to undo all that good will.
And in the most pathetic way possible.
From Conservative Tribune:
According to CNN, officials in New York City are looking into whether Donald Trump is violating zoning laws that were part of a deal he reached with the city to expand the tower back in 1979.
The enforcement has to do with a special deal he reached with the city regarding the extended zoning of Trump Tower back in 1979. In return for the extended zoning, New York City demanded that the building’s atrium “be accessible and kept open to the public from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. daily.”
While Trump Tower officials were allowed to apply for four exemptions per year, Soldevere said they had “received no such requests.”
Trump Tower’s atrium has been the cite of many of Trump’s campaign events, including his iconic candidacy declaration last summer.
Zoning laws? How slipshod can you get de Blasio? We know you’re in the bag for Hillary, but Trump is a New York intuition. He’s helped build up the city, adding to its considerable worth. Pulling out a dirty loophole like a zoning law to curtail his campaign efforts reeks of desperation.
New York Mayor Bill de Blasio has worked with Hillary since her first Senate campaign back in 2000. However, he didn’t endorse her until late in the game, presumably because the crypto-socialist mayor was sympathetic to Comrade Sanders.
Now that Mayor de Blasio is in the tank for Hillary, though, he certainly seems more than willing to use the pettiest of reasons to try to shut Trump’s campaign down.
De Blasio isn’t going to get anywhere with this claim. Trump doesn’t need his atrium to conduct campaign affairs. At worst this will result in a slap on the wrist for Donald. But you know who will really suffer from this kerfuffle? Why the mayor himself! How do you think New Yorkers will react when they learn the mayor is attacking one of their own?
New Yorkers don’t take too kindly to bullies, de Blasio. Don’t expect to be in office for long.
