While President Obama was in Alaska basking in the glow of the triumphant accomplishment of having a mountain renamed, the world peace promised by simply electing him is straining further and further.
From Fox News:
A Russian intelligence ship, capable of cutting undersea communications cables and other sensors, has been spotted by the U.S. military off the coast of Kings Bay, Ga., home to the U.S. Navy’s East Coast ballistic missile submarine fleet.
Now where might this ship be heading? Well none other than good old “missile crisis” Cuba.
U.S. military satellites have been tracking the Russian spy ship since it was spotted in the north Atlantic last month and slowly began transiting toward its next destination — Cuba. A senior military official said the ship is now about 300 miles off the coast of the U.S., as it heads toward the island.
This is just another example of this administration’s weak, if not outright failed foreign policies emboldening the world against the US.
Whether it is communication cutting spy ships 300 miles from one of our nuclear sub bases, reopening Arctic airfields, or nuclear bombers probing US defenses, it appears that Russia may at least be moving their relationship status with the US to “frenemy”, while looking to position themselves strategically while the current defense climate remains favorable to do so.
So while President Obama focuses on the important issues it appears as though at least one other country is taking every opportunity see how far they can go in gaining a foothold against us.
That’s not even to mention the Chinese and their potential plans.
