There has been a vast difference between the coverage given to President Donald Trump and the coverage of his predecessor, Barack H. Obama.
According to the press, former President Barack Obama is about the closest thing anyone’s seen to a man walking on water, healing the nation, and calming the rising seas.
While that’s a laughable assertion to close observers of politics, the media insists on peddling that snake oil with a straight face.
Obama made plenty of mistakes that were swept under the rug, but one was just uncovered that makes most of his other political trickery pale in the face of this baldfaced corruption.
NOQ Report reports:
A stunning accusation has been made Monday by a taxpayer watchdog organization. Cause of Action Institute maintains that the Obama administration used money received from mortgage settlements with big banks and improperly funneled it to “dozens of Democratic activist groups who were not even victims of the crisis.”
It’s not totally unbelievable. In fact, it’s quite plausible given the Obama administration’s penchant for making settlements with corporations that include various “donations” to groups like La Raza, Urban League or the National Community Reinvestment Coalition.
Wait, what? The impeccable Obama administration may have had its hand in the cookie jar for nefarious reasons? That’s blasphemy, I tell you!
That would be about the reaction you’d receive from a member of the elitist media that was presented with this story, so it’s not getting the attention that it deserves.
While it’s true that it’s only an accusation at this point, let’s suppose that it had something to do with a member of the Trump administration doing the same thing. What do you think would happen?
There would be hysteria and outrage, as well as ominous music playing at the break of newscasts to convey the message that this is really bad.
We won’t see the same here, but we’ll get our popcorn ready as this story continues to develop.
The New York Post broke the story over the weekend.
“During the Obama administration, groups committed to ‘revolutionary social change’ sent proposals and met with high-level HUD and Justice Department officials to try to get their pieces of the settlement pie,” Cause of Action Institute vice president Julie Smith told The Post.
So what do you suppose the real reason would be for these groups committed to so-called ‘revolutionary social change’ to be on the handout list?
At least three liberal nonprofit organizations the Justice Department approved to receive funds from multibillion-dollar mortgage settlements were instrumental in killing the ObamaCare repeal bill and are now lobbying against GOP tax reform, as well as efforts to rein in illegal immigration.
An estimated $640 million has been diverted into what critics say is an improper, if not unconstitutional, “slush fund” fed from government settlements with JPMorgan Chase and Co., Citigroup Inc. and Bank of America Corp., according to congressional sources.
I see. So this would be that precious ‘resistance’ that we hear so much about. You know, that completely organic groundswell of folks that are so darn upset about things that they just have to rise up and seek change.
As much as the Trump administration gets itself into deep holes through its missteps and inexperience, the Obama administration did everything with a very considered approach. They looked at the Constitution not as a guiding principle or founding document, but as an impediment to be overcome to achieve their goals.
That’s an incredibly fair point. The Trump administration is working through a steep learning curve – but there’s a huge difference.
There are no hall passes to be found for Trump or members of his administration. Any all mistakes are blared from the rooftops, and the most baseless and nonsense allegations are given ridiculous amounts of coverage.
In this case, we have a large waft of smoke billowing from the legacy of the precious Obama administration. Don’t you suppose that would capture the attention of a journalist whose job it is to inform the American people?
We’ll patiently wait for that to happen, but we’re not optimistic.
