For months we’ve had to sit and listen to the left go on and on about Robert Mueller and his “special investigation.” After so much time and tax payer money spent investigating a bogus dossier, they have found zero evidence connecting Trump to Russia.
The only indictment has been related to Paul Manafort and his behavior years ago. Nothing to do with the campaign or Trump.
Americans have had enough of this reckless waste of time and resources. Real crimes need to be investigated. Real work needs to be done by our federal authorities. So Rev. Pat Robertson recently recommended the President do something to fix this problem. I think it’s going to go over well with most of the country.
From Huffington Post:
Televangelist Pat Robertson wants President Donald Trump to issue pardons to everyone involved in the Russia scandal and then “shut down” the investigation being led by former FBI Director Robert Mueller.
“He has every right to shut Mueller down and say, ‘You’ve gone as far as you need to, and I have instructed my Justice Department to close you down,’” he said Monday on “The 700 Club,” which airs on ABC’s Freeform cable network.
The right-wing TV preacher said:
“He can grant a blanket pardon for everybody involved in everything and say, ‘All right, I pardon them all, case closed, it’s all over.’ I think that is what he needs to do … he’s got to shut this thing down, he’s just got to.”
I’m sure the Huffington Post highlighted this statement in order to smear Robertson, but his advice is pretty good.
The President has the authority to pardon people charged with crimes. Ordinarily, we only hear about a Presidential pardons at the end of his term. But the President can do so any time he wants (Trump did so in pardoning Joe Arpaio earlier this year).
The President also has the authority to shut down an investigation within the FBI. Remember, the FBI is not a part of Congress or any other branch of government. It answers to the executive branch, i.e.: the President. So Trump can and should just shut this thing down, before more resources are wasted.
At a time when the government is trying to cut taxes and reduce spending, we have the FBI conducting a witch hunt. Good investigators are wasting time chasing zero leads, instead of stopping real criminals.
Now’s the time to end this charade. I wouldn’t be surprise if Trump follows this wise man’s words.
