Peyton Manning Invited Golfing With Trump, His Response Has Liberals Enraged

In a perfect world, an invitation to go golfing with the President of the United States would be viewed as the honor that it is.

We do not live in a perfect world.  Former NFL star Peyton Manning has learned that firsthand.

Manning jumped at the chance to hit the links with President Donald Trump, but he received some backlash for his decision.

As the Independent Journal Review shares, Manning was recently on “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” and the pair chatted about how it went down.

Show host Jimmy Kimmel wanted to know how Manning ended up golfing with the president. “They knew I was in town. The White House called and said, ‘Hey, the president would like to play golf with you on Sunday, are you available?’ I got to tell you, Jimmy, I had a lot of people tell me not to do it,” Manning said.

Then Kimmel asked Manning who stated that he shouldn’t golf with the commander-in-chief. To which the former NFL star replied, “You did.”

After scoring that easy layup, Manning would break things down real simply for Kimmel.

“I heard Arnold Palmer say one time if the president of the United States ever asks you to play golf, you do it, it’s a no-brainer. And it was a fantastic experience. Rode in the motorcade over there and I’ve never felt safer playing golf,” he said. “We had 30 golf carts behind us. Felt safe, but he was a great host. He loves sports. And we passed through a number of groups. He was very gracious. He took a picture with groups that we passed through.”

Then Manning made it clear that it would have been “almost un-American” to not accept Trump’s invitation to golf with him.

It’s almost hard to believe that this could even be a thing, but that’s where we are in today’s political environment. An affable and likable guy such as Manning has to explain why he felt it was appropriate to spend time with the president.

If Manning had somehow rebuffed Trump’s invitation and made a spectacle of himself while explaining his decision, he would find himself as another poster child for the Left.

He didn’t do that. Manning respectfully accepted the invitation, and he went out and had a memorable time. We’ll chalk that up as another win for a legendary quarterback that’s no stranger to winning.
