The drumbeat of bad news just keeps pouring in for Hillary Clinton.
Her supporters are defecting, her fundraising is collapsing, the media is turning on her, and her polls have continued to deteriorate.
Central to her problems has been the increasing awareness of her fundamental flaw whether we are talking about Benghazi, emails, Foundation donations, speaking fees, etc…
Now don’t get me wrong, the phrase “honest politician” sounds like an oxymoron, like “jumbo shrimp” or “deeply superficial.” However, Americans are optimists, and many hold out the idea that there have to be some trustworthy leaders out there.
Many have concluded that Donald Trump can be trusted, despite the mainstream media’s non-stop smear campaign against him. Not only that, but he outpolls Hillary Clinton on that attribute by an incredible 2 to 1 margin.
As reported by Conservative Tribune…
The Republican presidential candidate seemed to be edging out likely Democrat nominee Hillary Clinton in the honesty department, according to a new Rasmussen poll.
A poll of likely voters showed that 30 percent believe Trump to be “more honest” than other politicians, whereas Clinton stood at just 15 percent.
Before anyone breaks out the champagne and declares the era of honesty has arrived, 45-46 percent of those polled believed both Trump and Clinton to be less honest than most politicians.
In other words, Americans seem resigned to the idea that politicians can’t be trusted, but when it comes this particular race, Trump is seen as the more honest candidate, and by people who by their own admission, are “likely voters” and not just anyone.
And since the November is shaping up as a contest between Clinton and Trump and not “most politicians,” that’s all that matters.
