Remember when President Obama vowed that if you liked your doctor and your medical plan, you could still keep them under “Obamacare”? Critics who warned that he was lying were denounced as racist cranks who wanted to see poor, sick people suffer.
We were also told that we had to pass the bill before we could see what was in it. Now that millions of Americans have, and are suffering under the relentless consequences of Obamacare, its namesake says no one should blame him.
Charlie Spiering reports for Breitbart:
President Barack Obama offers multiple excuses for why health insurance premiums continue to skyrocket, including blaming Republicans and insurance companies for the problems.
He complains that too many reporters spend more time discussing premium increases than explaining why he isn’t responsible for them.
“No, I had nothing to do with that,” Obama said, calling it “complicated” despite the “hysteria” that was growing.
Obama tried to make an analogy to explain away the situation and it backfired — pun intended:
During his speech, he pointed out that when smart phone companies released a product that had bugs in it, they fixed it.
“Unless it catches fire. Then they pull it off the market,” he admitted, likely referring to the disastrous exploding Samsung Galaxy S7.
Well, yes, and for many Americans, Obamacare has “caught fire” — it’s the medical and financial equivalent of a garbage fire.
But all Obama can think about is his “legacy” and wondering why the normally subservient media keep blaming all these problems on him.
He ended with a bizarre flourish:
“You’re getting better quality, even though you don’t know that Obamacare is doing it,” he said. “Thanks Obama.”
He sounds more like a petulant child than the leader of the free world. What an embarrassment.
