Liberals can’t figure it out. Multi-millionaire Donald Trump doesn’t pretend to be “a man of the people,” but clearly many ordinary Americans believe that he’s their best representative. Meanwhile, the Democrats, who are supposed to be the party of the working man, are losing voters in droves due to their elitist attitudes and behaviors.
Case in point: Hillary Clinton still hasn’t gotten the message. She was widely criticized for wearing a $12,000 Armani jacket to give a speech about “wealth inequality” (not to be confused with the relatively cheaper $7000 one she wore at the DNC.) Now she’s at it again:
[S]he was spotted on the campaign trail in Des Moines, Iowa, on Wednesday in a pair of hand-stitched calfskin shoes by Italian designer Salvatore Ferragamo — shoes that regularly cost $775.
As the Washington Free Beacon pointed out, these shoes cost more than the Average American earns in a week. According to data from the Census Bureau in 2013, Americans average a yearly income of $28,155, which breaks down to $586.56 weekly. (…)
Clinton also makes appointments at the John Barrett hair salon, located inside the posh New York City Bergdorf Goodman department store to get her hair cut — those appointments cost about $600. Hair color is an extra $600, so Clinton could easily be spending $1,200 on her hair every six weeks or so.
Those last amounts are insane. Most American women who have their hair styled and colored pay about one-tenth of that amount, even in New York City.
It’s hard to know what’s weirder: Clinton’s apparently cluelessness about how out of touch her fashion choices make her look – or, if she’s aware of that fact, her refusal to “tone it down” a notch or two. Is she really that arrogant?
