President Trump’s ‘Travel Ban,’ meant to protect average Americans, has been on a roller coaster ride through Obama’s liberal courts.
But it always had a big hurdle to jump when it got to the Supreme Court, which leans slightly conservative but still threatens to flip regularly with Justice Kennedy as the swing vote.
The Supreme Court heard arguments on Trump’s ban of 6 countries, and now they have issued their final ruling.
The Supreme Court is allowing the Trump administration to fully enforce a ban on travel to the United States by residents of six mostly Muslim countries.
The justices, with two dissenting votes, said Monday that the policy can take full effect even as legal challenges against it make their way through the courts. The action suggests the high court could uphold the latest version of the ban that Trump announced in September.
The ban applies to travelers from Chad, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Syria and Yemen. Lower courts had said people from those nations with a claim of a “bona fide” relationship with someone in the United States could not be kept out of the country. Grandparents, cousins and other relatives were among those courts said could not be excluded.
This is fantastic news for American conservatives who feel proper vetting needs to take place to protect its citizens from the dangers of radical Islamic terrorism.
Democrats will hem and haw about the unfairness of this decision towards Muslims, but the truth is that the deck has been stacked in their favor—ever since Obama stacked the courts during his 8 years.
Trump is already working to undo the corruption of the federal bench, appointing a wide swath of law-abiding judges, and thankfully 7 Supreme Court justices had the sense to put the welfare of Americans above immigrants who may pose a great danger to America.
This is the final decision of the year, but CNBC also indicates that further review is being held in the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco and the 4th Circuit in Richmond on its final legality. This strong signal towards the more liberal circuit courts may encourage them to end their futile attempt to shoot down this ban.
This has been a huge win for Trump, and along with the passage of Trump’s tax bill through the Senate, things are indeed looking up for America!
