The last eight years have been very difficult for Americans. They have been especially difficult if you are a conservative.
We have been forced to watch our country’s government devolve into chaos. The political agenda of the left turned key leadership offices into social justice experiments. People were appointed to important seats, because they would look good on the news or to preserve political alliances (i.e.: Secretary of State Clinton).
Worse yet was the treatment of our military, which was hamstrung by radical liberal views.
This has all resulted in a shocking rise in radical Islamic terrorism around the world. Countless lives have been lost, largely due to our weak leadership and mishandled military. The tragic slayings in Benghazi might be one of worst results.
But there have been a few heroes, even in these dark times. One has been Rep. Trey Gowdy, who has worked tirelessly to uncover the horrendous behavior of for Secretary of State Clinton and President Obama as related to Benghazi.
Here’s Gowdy showing off his inestimable value to Trump’s incoming administration:
His work has not gone unnoticed and he will be playing a larger role in the future.
From Yes I’m Right:
In what some may see as an encouraging sign of intelligence being ushered in by the incoming Trump administration, U.S. Rep. Trey Gowdy has been named to the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence.
The South Carolina Republican, popular with the conservative wing of the GOP, was chair of the Select Committee on Benghazi and will now be tasked with the oversight of the United States intelligence community in his new committee.
“Protecting the safety and security of our fellow citizens is the preeminent function of government,” Gowdy said in a statement, according to The Greenville News. “When it comes to our national security, we cannot afford to take risks.
We know our intelligence agencies are in complete disarray. Top leaders within the CIA, FBI, and other groups are manipulating intel to undermine the incoming President, driven largely for political reasons. Appointing someone like Gowdy to oversee intelligence will send a signal that such disarray is over.
Real accountability and insight will once again have sway over our government’s intelligence-gathering agencies. The kind of abuses and shocking lapses in judgment will no longer be tolerated.
It’s about time.
