Donald Trump has just picked up a new endorsement – and it’s sure to make the Democrats jumpy.
Why? The endorsement was offered in one of the country’s key battleground states – Ohio – where Hillary Clinton thought, just a few weeks ago, she had the voters’ wrapped.
“Trump has received an endorsement from the Cleveland Police Patrolmen’s Union in the key battleground state of Ohio,” Breitbart reported.
And the membership vote wasn’t even close.
“The union voted overwhelmingly … for Trump over Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton in a 216 to 68 vote,” WJW reported.
What’s even more significant about this endorsement is that the union does not normally offer one – at all.
But this year, members decided to go ahead and get in the political game.
“The membership voted by a narrow margin that the Cleveland Police Patrolmen’s Association WILL make an endorsement in the upcoming election for president of the United States,” wrote CPPA president Steve Loomis in a letter to union members, Breitbart reported.
This isn’t the only police backing Trump’s received in recent days. Just a few weeks ago, the national Fraternal Order of Police came out to announce backing for the Republican, rather than for Hillary Clinton.
