When news that leaked audio from ten years ago revealed Trump making some distasteful comments about women, the Internet blew up. We expected the left to try to use the opportunity to make Trump out to be a sexist monster.
Despite their belly-aching, Trump pivoted expertly. He apologized, asserted he’s a changed man, and put the focus back on the issues facing our country.
That helped him crush Hillary Clinton in the soon to follow second debate. A scheme meant to derail the Republican candidate turned out in his overwhelming favor.
But the real shocking fallout from the leaked audio is the reaction from so-called conservatives. This event has exposed every false face in the Republican Party, those NeverTrumpers who still fear his powerful impact in the corrupt, outdated Washington politics.
Sam Clovis, co-chairman of Trump’s campaign, discussed the issue. Via Breitbart:
Marlow asked how the Trump campaign planned to strategize around the intense media focus on his “hot mic” lewd remarks, “considering that even the Republican Party is now destroying Donald Trump over these comments.”…
“And I think what it goes to is the fact that they don’t want to focus on policy. They don’t want to focus on the substance of the issues because the establishments of the Republican Party and the Democrat Party writ large are deeply threatened by a populist movement in this country
“I really think this is why you see these weak-kneed, lily-livered Republicans out here – I have other words, but I can’t use them on the radio – that go to the heart of what I think is a despicable display of cowardice on the part of the Republican Party over this whole issue.”
It’s clear that there are Republicans in D.C. that are threatened by Trump and the populist movement. Decades of insider politics will be eradicated. Complacent, lazy lawmakers will be forced to put up or shut up. Democrats and Republicans won’t be able to mistreat citizens any longer, using the nation as their piggy bank, when Trump is elected.
So they are using the leaked audio as an excuse to torpedo him, even if that means electing Crooked Hillary.
Make a note of every Republican attacking Trump, including Paul Ryan. These are the people that need to be replaced. They lack any trace of loyalty to the party and its front runner. They deserve to be removed from office, replaced by honest, conservative leadership.
That might not be a possibility right now, but make a note the next they’re up for reelection.
