After recent terrorist attacks in key European cities like Paris and Brussels, there are fears that there may be attacks planned targeting key U.S. cities.
These attacks have been carried out by ISIS supporters, many of whom have been refugees from the recent conflict in Syria.
Throughout the presidential campaign, the issue of immigration has been one of the main and most controversial parts of Donald Trump’s run for the White House.
He wants to close the borders ad have a wall built between Mexico and the United States, as well as closing down immigration of Muslims until they can be properly vetted to ensure that they are not potential terrorists.
These views and proposals have caused much debate with the general public and now the billionaire has gone a step further by making a stark prediction of how and when terrorism will once again darken our shores.
As reported by The Hill:
Presumptive GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump said it would take another 9/11 to wake up border security — and predicted refugees would plan the next attack.
“Bad things will happen. A lot of bad things will happen,” Trump said on the National Border Patrol Council’s “The Green Line” radio show, BuzzFeed News reported.
“There will be attacks that you wouldn’t believe,” Trump said. “There will be attacks by the people that are, right now, that are coming into our country, because — I have no doubt in my mind.”
While some people may think that Trump’s words are hyperbolic and are alarmist in nature, he correctly predicted that there would be further attacks in Europe as the refugee problem was becoming out of control and unchecked.
His point that we don’t know if the Muslim refugees we are letting in are going to be peaceful or they could be part of ISIS or a similar terrorist group. It is not a risk worth taking.
