The political landscape in Colorado has changed virtually overnight, thanks to the Donald Trump’s complaints about the process.
Because of Ted Cruz’s delegate sweep at recent conventions, Trump supporters are in a uproar. Some are burning their party cards as the Republican Party of Colorado has been thrown into chaos.
Now it’s getting worse. According to the Conservative Tribune:
A social media campaign has begun to protest the state party’s decision to decide its delegate allocation without a vote — 34 in total — during this election cycle. Sen. Cruz — whose ground game and political maneuvers have been besting Trump even when Cruz hasn’t been beating the billionaire at the polls — took all 34 Colorado delegates this weekend.
A new group, calling themselves Colorado Votes Matter, has taken shape. They plan to alter this status quo, with an event this Friday.
“The Colorado Republican Party shamefully silenced its voters this election season. We demand that Colorado give the power to vote in the Presidential primary to the voters,” a statement on the group’s Facebook page read. “We will exercise our right to assemble and peacefully protest the corruption of the Colorado GOP and disenfranchisement that we the voters have suffered.”
The festivities will began on the steps of the Colorado state party headquarters in Greenwood Village.
Trump has voiced his anger over his fiasco, claiming that the tactics perpetrated by the Cruz campaign were unfair despite the rules having been well-known, failing to organize his supporters for the conventions and his own decision to cancel his appearance.
He claimed to World Net Daily…
“I’ve gotten millions … of more votes than Cruz, and I’ve gotten hundreds of delegates more, and we keep fighting, fighting, fighting, and then you have a Colorado where they just get all of these delegates, and it’s not (even) a system.”
No matter your views on Donald Trump, you can’t fault the citizen outrage.
