Despite the ongoing bombardment from the left and liberal media, Donald Trump continues to draw in record numbers at his campaign rallies. From all accounts, he had captured the attention of millions of Americans, conservative and liberal, who have grown disillusioned with our current leadership.
Trump poses a threat to any insider politician. This is why even Republicans are afraid of him. He represents a sea change to D.C., a massive transformation that will bring an end to decades of corruption, insider games, and collusion between both parties to cheat the American people.
This is why the media are against him. Even they–large corporations with their own lobbyists and agendas–are working so hard to undermine him. That’s why even long-time conservatives and politics within the GOP seem so reluctant to endorse him.
But the bottom line is, his plan is to break up the monopoly of power within the government and end abuse and mistreatment of Americans. Much like Teddy Roosevelt, who busted up commercial monopolies in the early 1900’s, Trump can do the same in Washington.
And he’s making his plan very clear. The left should be shaking in their boots.
From Allen B. West:
Trump spent the first part of his comments [at Gettysburg] addressing the rampant corruption and lawlessness on the part of the Democrats and Hillary Clinton, and used the second half to lay out his 100-day plan with specific actions for improving trade and restoring law and order.
But here’s what he’s got in mind for his very first day in office. To all those complaining Donald Trump has never provided any substance, how ‘bout them apples?
Trump announced “a contract between Donald J. Trump and the American voter. It begins with bringing honesty, accountability and change to Washington DC. Therefore, on the first day of my term of office, my administration will immediately pursue the following six measures to clean up the corruption and special interest collusion in Washington.”
His six measures are:
- A Constitutional amendment to impose term limits on all members of Congress
- A hiring freeze on all federal employees to reduce the federal workforce through attrition except for military, public safety and public health
- For every new federal regulation, two existing regulations must be eliminated
- A 5-year ban on White House and congressional officials becoming lobbyists after they leave government service
- A lifetime ban on White House officials lobbying on behalf of a foreign government
- A complete ban on foreign lobbyists raising money for American elections
As a former government contractor and someone who’s worked up close with a federal agency, I can tell you, these are some strong measures.
Term limits on members of Congress are long overdue. If the president can only run for two terms, why should senators and representatives enjoy a lifelong seat at the table?
A hiring freeze will ensure lower government spending. The provision for federal regulations not only will decrease the size of the government, but force the federal government to think very long and hard before passing new ones.
The limitations on lobbyist is long overdue as well. Lobby is the single worst manipulation of our freedoms. It undermines the integrity of our elected officials, causing many leaders to look out for the interests of companies and other countries, rather than the people who elected them.
With these measures, Donald Trump is speaking directly to the American people. He is not trying to curry the favor of big companies, people in Washington, or any special interest. He’s not in this to make friends. He’s in this to fix our broken system and give the power back to the people.
It’s about time.
