The state of American colleges and universities is deplorable. Once the center of education and higher learning, most campuses are now glorified daycare centers. They catered to entitled, selfish children, who spend thousands of dollars to be placated to by arrogant professors.
Since the 1960’s college campuses have been the breeding grounds for ignorant, liberal ideology. Teachers, who can’t do anything meaningful in society, try to pollute young minds with empty rhetoric. While in the past this was allowed because the schools still prized individuality of thought and training the next generation, modern colleges do neither.
Take the example of Joshua Nash, student at Purdue University. He had the gall to post his personal thoughts on Facebook. Normally this would have gone unnoticed, who would censor a kid’s thoughts on Facebook, after all? This is America; Nash has the right to say anything he wants. Except of course, when he criticizes a college’s pet activist group.
From Heat Street:
Joshua Nash, a biology major who is gay and refers to himself as a “dangerous faggot” in his Twitter bio (a reference to conservative commentator Milo Yiannopoulos) was summoned to a mandatory “Administrative Meeting” after a student reported a posting of his made on Facebook. According to Nash, the Facebook posting was to the effect that “Black Lives Matter is trash because they do not really care about black lives. They simply care about making money and disrupting events for dead people.”
Nash says that when he called the university administration for clarification about this hearing, he was told he could face consequences for his posting up to and including expulsion.
This is the America we live in now, where an openly gay student is persecuted. Not for his sexuality, mind you, but because he questioned the validity of a dangerous group like BLM. It’s all the worse when you consider he’s not getting persecuted by fellow students, but by the school administration. The ones who should be defending their students’ right to say whatever they believe, are the very ones making the threats.
News of this bullying tactic spread all over the Internet, bringing unwanted attention to a school already criticized for its behavior. The administration quickly reversed its decision (as all spineless bullies do).
Today, after widespread media attention to the issue — including from Heat Street and The Drudge Report — the university is reaffirming its commitment to free speech and saying that the school merely wants to engage in “dialogue” with the student and offer him “support.”
Of course they just want to offer the kid they threatened with expulsion “support.” Is this American now? Do we only get freedom of speech as long as we fight and scream for it? Would Joshua Nash be out on the street right now if it weren’t for Heat Street and Drudge Report making a big deal of this?
What about all the other students across America who are facing the same kind of oppression? These news sites can’t be aware of every attack on free speech. How are we going to defend our citizens’ rights, when the powers that be work so hard to suppress and bully in favor of their corrupt liberal agenda?
Our only recourse is to speak all the louder. We cannot let the media, colleges, and corrupt politicians do the talking for us. There are forces within our country that mean to tear us apart. We must speak up. We must make our voices heard. We cannot allow terrorist groups like Black Lives Matter have the only say.
