Apparently, Donald Trump’s win is having a ripple effect not only across America, but also overseas—at spots as far away as the Netherlands.
That’s where one of the Dutch Parliament’s biggest freedom fighters and loudest defenders of the concept of patriotism and sovereignty gave a shout-out to America for having the courage to elect Trump.
Who’s the voice?
None other than Geert Wilders, leader of the Party for Freedom, who penned an appreciative piece in Breitbart about Trump’s win.
It opened with the blunt: “Congratulations America!”
And from there, Wilders spoke of the message sent around the world with Trump’s election: that “enough is enough” and it’s time for freedom to reign once again. Just like America experienced true freedom over 200 years ago, he believes we have just witnessed the Second American Revolution, won by a close margin but won nonetheless.
“It is not just Hillary Clinton who was beaten,” he wrote. “The media and the chattering classes have all been beaten.”
Wilders also pointed to how the Brexit vote followed similar thought patterns – that Europeans, too, were sick and tired of the elites in government telling how to live while forcing a demographic shift nobody outside the top tier political circles wanted.
“For years,” he wrote, “they have stubbornly refused to recognize the harm done to ordinary people by mass immigration and Islamization. The elites are completely out of touch with the problems, the worries and the fears of ordinary people.”
How true. One need only witness the shocked faces of the media talking heads, post-election, to realize just how bubble-wrapped these people live.
Wilders wrapped with a reference to Ronald Reagan, whom he called “the greatest president in our lifetime,” and said he had similar hopes for Trump.
“America has just liberated itself from political correctness,” Wilders wrote. “The American people expressed their desire to remain a free and democratic people.”
