We’ve learned recently how the Obama administration was extorting cash from big businesses.
It seems, however, he was in the business of robbing people of their money. Not only companies that were charged with wrongdoing—but American tax payers as well.
As it turns out, millions of your tax dollars were be funneled overseas. But for what? Live-saving resources? Rebuilding war-torn countries? Helping widows and orphans?
Nope. They were wasted on fake soldiers.
From Conservative Journal:
Millions of U.S. taxpayer dollars were being foolishly wasted paying for the salaries of non-existent “ghost” soldiers
Well, folks. In an interview with Sharyl Attkinson of Full Measure, special inspector general for Afghanistan reconstruction, John Sopko, it was all but confirmed that millions of US taxpayer dollars were wasted away under the Obama administration on the salaries of “ghost” or non-existent soldiers and policemen in Afghanistan
“We’ve been raising this concern about ghosts going back a number of years,” Sopko said. “Actually I want to say we heard about it from (Afghan President) Ashraf Ghani years ago, before he became president, he warned me about ‘ghosts,’ so we started looking three years ago…”
Fox News had even reported as early as October 2016 that, based on a Sopko letter released to the Pentagon, the fraud could have amounted to more than $300 million annually.
Clearly this was a scheme to pad the paychecks of generals and other higher ups. They would lie to the American government, claiming the money was going to soldiers. But those soldiers did not exist. Afghani leaders found a way to cheat the U.S. government.
Even though people like Sopko were aware of this and raised the alarm, Obama did nothing. It seemed almost as if he wanted to waste hundreds of millions of U.S. dollars.
That’s a liberal for you. They don’t care what the money is spent on, as long as it’s being spent.
Thankfully now, under Trump, the Pentagon is cracking down on this abuse.
According to the Independent Journal Review, Attkinsson notes that the Pentagon is implementing a biometric system that will be checking fingerprints, photos, and even blood type in order to verify “proof of life” and get rid of the “ghosts.”
Simple measures like photo ID could have saved Americans $300 million dollars. Geez, Trump didn’t come soon enough!
