People still point to Bill Clinton’s appearance playing the saxophone on The Arsenio Hall Show as the moment many Americans decided to vote for him.
What that says about those Americans is a topic for another time. What’s clear is that Hillary just doesn’t have her husband’s extraordinary magic on television.
The ratings for her latest appearance are in and they aren’t flattering. The Hill reports:
The Democratic presidential nominee’s Monday night appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” registered just a 0.4 rating in the key 18-49 demographic advertisers covet most.
Kimmel’s 0.4 rating with Clinton lost to a Nick At Nite rerun of “Friends” — a program that went off the air more than a decade ago — and “Teen Mom Season 6” on MTV.
Republican nominee Donald Trump’s last appearance on Kimmel on May 25 registered an 0.6 rating — 33 percent higher than Clinton’s.
Notice that Hillary went on a comedy show where she’d be taking softball questions from a host who doesn’t want to alienate her or future liberal guests. Yet how many months has it been since she’s held a real press conference?
She should fire the people on her team who thought this Kimmel bit was a great idea. Trump and his supporters will use it against her from now through November.
