Joe Biden really thought his student loan scheme was going to save his bacon. But right away, he stopped talking about it, because most Americans were not pleased.

They didn’t like the idea that they were on the hook for paying $500 billion in other people’s debt.

And now, one Libertarian group is firing back with a major lawsuit.

The Pacific Legal Foundation filed suit on Tuesday against the Biden administration for its policy to cancel up to $10,000 in student debt for millions of borrowers…

“It’s flagrantly illegal for the executive branch to create a $500 billion program by press release, and without statutory authority or even the basic notice and comment procedure for new regulations.”

The Pacific Legal Foundation is claiming that Biden’s use of the HEROES Act to cancel student loan debt is “flagrantly illegal.”

The 2003 law was passed to aid Iraq War veterans and their families. It does not appear this law can be used by Biden to broadly cancel student loan repayments.

The group blasted Biden’s attempt to cancel debt without support from Congress. It claimed Congress did not give the president authority to broadly end student debt.

This lawsuit comes as most Americans appear to dislike Biden’s plan. It seems Biden made this announcement, hoping it would win back some approval and salvage the midterms.

Instead, it appeared to backfire. Hard-working Americans, many of whom could not go to college, will be forced to pay for the student loans of entitled children.

Not a great plan, Joe. This move is the height of “champagne socialism,” where the government uses taxes from working-class people to bail out the rich.

In other words, the only kind of socialism Democrats seem to love.

Rarely has Biden’s far-left policies helped working Americans. His open border is jeopardizing both their security and job opportunity.

His massive tax-and-spend plan has resulted in massive inflation and lower salaries across the board.

Biden’s approval continues to remain low. Now, this lawsuit could undo one move he thought was going to save his presidency.

Not that salvation was ever possible.
