Bill O’Reilly has been at the top of the cable news industry for decades. Bill, we at Patriot Journal thank you for your work, for your hard-hitting commentary.
All conservative Americans thank you.
Most have already heard the terrible news that Fox News has given O’Reilly the boot after sexual allegations piled up, and he was ultimately shown the door just like Roger Ailes.
Unfortunately, the news must go on, and Fox has already been deliberating how to fill the gigantic vacuum O’Reilly will create on their weeknight lineup.
It looks like they already have their man. From The Hollywood Reporter:
Tucker Carlson is likely to move into the 8 p.m. hour if Bill O’Reilly exits Fox News, sources tell The Hollywood Reporter.
Carlson replaced Megyn Kelly when she left last January and his show – Tucker Carlson Tonight – was an immediate hit, helped by record tune in overall during the early tumultuous days of the administration of Donald Trump. Talk show host Laura Ingraham also is among those being considered.
As for one of his likely time slot heirs, Tucker Carlson has developed a swift following at Fox News. He wasn’t even in primetime at the top of the year, but his move to Megyn Kelly’s old 9 o’clock hour has been a huge success. He’s now No. 2 in cable news with an average 3.3 million viewers and 689,000 adults 25-54.
Although Fox News has seen some momentous changes at the network, with the aforementioned titans leaving as well as Megyn Kelly, thankfully the “fair and balanced” news leader has some inspired talent waiting in the wings.
Tucker Carlson has brought life into the news for the next generation and may be the best critical thinker employed by any news agency.
If he gets the gig, we look forward to many years—even decades—of a sharp conservative at the helm, grilling both sides and giving Americans the truth they deserve.
