Black Lives Matter Has 10 Demands For White People—So Sit Down, Shut Up And Read

Suggested title: BLM Activist Offers Up Shocking Requests For White People

Subheading: There’s no mention of coming together and solving problems in a rational fashion on this gem of a list.

Racial tensions across the United States have come back to the forefront in a big way in the wake of Charlottesville.

The mainstream media has picked up that ball and crammed it down our throats as hard as possible. Democratic leadership has been hitting those notes more than normal, and the end result is a lot of yelling without any solutions being offered up.

To break things down in its simplest form, there are extreme viewpoints in both directions. For simplicity purposes, let’s call that 10 percent to the extreme left, and another 10 percent on the extreme right. In the middle, we have 80 percent.

The two extremes do a lot of yelling that makes it seem as if it’s an out of control issue that needs to be dealt with immediately. The other 80 percent typically doesn’t harbor anything even resembling racist thoughts, and they scratch their heads and wonder what all the fuss is about.

In short, there’s no denying that there’s racism out there, and it will always exist to some degree. That’s incredibly unfortunate, but those fringe elements are not representative of the overwhelming majority of society.

That should be applauded as progress, but it’s not enough for some folks.

The Daily Caller passes along some requests from a Black Lives Matter activist.

An activist associated with the Black Lives Matter movement recently offered a list of requests for white people.

The article for Leo Weekly, titled, “White people, here are 10 requests from a Black Lives Matter leader,” was written by Chanelle Helm, a self-described “cofounder and core organizer of Black Lives Matter Louisville.”

If you were hoping that these requests would be in the form of a well-framed argument that points out how we can all come together and solve things, you will be sorely disappointed.

In the post, Helm opens by telling white people, “if you don’t have any descendants, will your property to a black or brown family. Preferably one that lives in generational poverty.”

White people who can “an afford to downsize” are urged to “give up the home you own to a black or brown family.”

The requests hit on the familiar notes of reparations. In essence, white people should be paying for sins of the past out of their own pockets. The fact that society as a whole has evolved dramatically since the sins of the past were committed is completely disregarded.

“White people, re-budget your monthly so you can donate to black funds for land purchasing,” reads another request.

Helm also references “lil’ d***-white men” associated with the alt-right and tells other whites to, “Get they ass fired. Call the police even: they look suspicious.”

Despite the fact that the economy has been improving, it can be challenging to make ends meet. Family budgets are already stretched pretty tight.

Those that can afford to be altruistic do so, but it’s just not possible for some families. Either way, why should they donate to just ‘black funds’?

Are there not other causes worthy of donation? Are those that wish to purchase land incapable of working to achieve their goals?

This list of requests may seem strange, but it fits an increasingly common thread among left-wing activists, many of whom insist that the only way to properly address historical racism is through reparations.

Reparations for slavery and historical oppression, once a relatively fringe idea among American liberals, has gained increasing support in recent years.

There’s no question that our ancestors engaged in some abominable behavior. Thankfully, that behavior has been eradicated from society.

We are several generations removed from the time of slavery, and there was tremendous progress made in regards to historical oppression in the last century.

Exactly why should people that had absolutely nothing to do with slavery or historical oppression be responsible for that? By that standard, should each and every family that has ever had a member that did something wrong be completely shunned?

Regardless of where you land on the political spectrum, there remain some indisputable facts that make our country a great one to live in.

At the top of the list is the fact that opportunity exists for everyone. If you find your calling and put your nose to the grindstone, success will follow. That can take on many different forms, but there’s nothing to prevent folks from at least giving it a shot.

There’s all sorts of inspiring stories out there of people that have come from humble beginnings to become incredible success stories. We can all study what they did, draw inspiration from it, and put the wheels in motion to do the same.

Focusing efforts in that direction will lead to less of a need for unreasonable requests such as these.
