As Inauguration Day inches closer, President-Elect has made no bones about his disgust of governmental spending. He has vowed to cut unnecessary government workers from the top down and is now vowing to cut the American’s tax dollars spent on unneeded luxuries awarded to the president.
With government spending skyrocketing, Trump feels this is too much of a burden to place on the American people, as well as one that is an expense that he emphatically says is not needed.
We have to admire a president who puts the hard-working voters who elected into office ahead of his own needs.
His explosive tweet as reported by Yahoo News states…
“Boeing is building a brand new 747 Air Force One for future presidents, but costs are out of control, more than $4 billion. Cancel order!” Trump said on Twitter. It was not immediately clear what prompted the timing of his complaint.
Trump, who has vowed to use his skills as a businessman to make good deals that benefit American taxpayers, then made a surprise appearance in the lobby of Trump Tower in New York, where he amplified his comments.
“The plane is totally out of control. I think it’s ridiculous. I think Boeing is doing a little bit of a number. We want Boeing to make a lot of money but not that much money,” he told reporters.
As for the effects of that statement, the article goes on to state:
Boeing shares dipped after Trump’s tweet but were flat at the end of the trading day.
You have to love a president that put’s the people first!
