Liberals are notorious for talking out of both sides of their mouths.
On the one hand, they say they are tolerant. They claim to protect all people, no matter what they believe, and they fancy themselves a safe haven for those of every background.
Additionally, they claim to be unselfish and generous, in contrast to the greedy, self-serving conservatives.
On the other hand, however, they deem anyone who disagrees with them as racist, homophobic, and ignorant. They also comprise of some of the richest, most powerful people in America, who are only out to line their own pockets.
Nowhere is this contradiction more apparent than in California.
Recently, California banned its citizens from visiting several states it deems “homophobic” with taxpayer funds. Nevertheless, several Californian state government officials recently went to one of those states.
As reported by The Daily Wire:
Just one day after California issued a hypocritical travel ban on red states that allegedly infringe on LGBT rights, a group of California politicians traveled to Texas, one of those banned states.
Perhaps Californians are taking a cue from the brave “hunger-strikers” at Yale University, viewing their travel ban as strictly “symbolic“?
AB 1887, enacted in January, identifies California as “a leader in protecting civil rights and preventing discrimination” and says that the state will not support, financially or otherwise, “discrimination against lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people.”
But their hypocritical stand only lasted about three seconds. According to the LA Times, California politicians were in Dallas on Friday, just one day after the issued ban, for an annual conference on immigration.
This is beyond ludicrous.
It is one thing to take a principled stand. Were California to do so, I would at least respect the concept.
Of course, the Left has no idea what principles are. It only wants to look good in the public eye, and it has no regard for actual ideological consistency otherwise.
When a conservative takes a stand, he or she continuously acts accordingly. For example, when Senator Ted Cruz promised his constituents that he would repeal Obamacare, he did everything in his power to do so, even if it meant opposing the bills proposed by Republican leaders.
Democrats, in contrast, promise their constituents one thing, then do something else entirely.
For example, Bernie Sanders told his supporters that he would stand up to big banks. Shortly thereafter, he allegedly committed bank fraud with his wife.
Regardless of its validity, the California state government made a promise: it would not support travel to “anti-gay” states. Nevertheless, Californian representatives quickly abandoned that promise.
Which party, then, is the honest party in American politics?
President Trump and most Republicans legitimately want to Make America Great Again. They want America to be decent, honest, and free.
Democrats, however, only want power for themselves. In their eyes, if they need to lie to their constituents in order to gain, then so be it.
What the Democrats in Californian did was beyond hypocritical. It was reprehensible, and hopefully Americans will wake to the realities of Democratic leadership before it is too late.
