Democrats thought they were safe in the liberal 9th Circuit, but conservatives just got a big win.

Liberal universities have been trying to silence conservatives on campus for years.

Students who dare to deviate from their liberal indoctrination are punished in all kinds of ways, such as being suspended for wearing Trump shirts.

Recently conservative thinkers like Ben Shapiro were shouted down and uninvited from UC Berkeley’s campus in an outright attack on free speech.

But conservatives at Berkeley are fighting back. They dared to do so in the liberal 9th Circuit Court. Now they’re getting a stunning answer.

Following more than a year of hard-fought litigation in the hostile Ninth Circuit, Young America’s Foundation secured victory for free speech against the University of California, Berkeley.  Through YAF’s lawsuit and subsequent settlement agreement executed over the weekend, UC Berkeley agreed to the following terms set by Young America’s Foundation:

1) Pay Young America’s Foundation $70,000.

2) Rescind the unconstitutional “high-profile speaker policy.”

3) Rescind the viewpoint-discriminatory security fee policy.

4) Abolish its heckler’s veto – protestors will no longer be able to shut down conservative expression.

The YAF is celebrating their hard-fought victory for conservatives and free speech, getting $70,000 to go towards legal fees and the freedom to speak on Berkeley’s campus again.

American Thinker summed it up this way:

This landmark victory for free expression means UC Berkeley can no longer wantonly treat conservative students as second-class members of its community while ignoring the guaranteed protections of the First Amendment.

UC Berkeley is denying that they lost, claiming that the only reason they paid YAF $70,000 was to save money by preventing lawsuits in the future.

Berkeley has not admitted to discriminating against conservatives, but their own actions prove that there was a great deal of wrongdoing.

The university’s administrators forced conservative students to pay $20,000 for security to host Ben Shapiro, but only charged liberal students $5,000 to bring Justice Sonia Sotomayor to campus. Sotomayor was also given a larger venue than Shapiro.

Now the security fee policy is gone, and both liberal and conservative student groups will not have to pay them.

This is a huge win for freedom in America, especially for the next generation who should have a free environment to learn and discuss ideas.
