Well, that was brief. Remember three whole weeks ago, when the mainstream media underwent a long overdue self-examination?
They wondered how they could have been so wrong about the election, how out of touch they’d been with their own readers. What could they do to get back on track and win back the trust of their audience?
It turns out that the biggest offender — CNN (a.k.a. The Clinton News Network) — has decided against changing course. In fact, they are going to double down on the strategy that saw the once great cable giant turn into the laughing stock of the nation:
CNN is taking an increasingly negative approach toward its coverage of President-elect Trump, causing at least some tension within the network, inside sources told the Washington Examiner.
CNN has always pledged to hold Trump accountable and that’s what we should be doing,” another source told the Examiner. “Since the election, CNN has out MSNBCed MSNBC,” the source said, referring to the liberal slant at CNN’s competitor. “In the long term, that’s a dangerous place to be.”
As the Examiner goes on to explain, what’s particularly extraordinary is that on-air talent at CNN are violating a media tradition and openly criticizing each other on social media when they disagree.
This is unheard of, and probably violates their contracts with their employer, but they don’t care. That’s how deep the rot is at CNN. How much longer can it last at this pace?
