A top Democrat is in deep trouble for lying under oath in front of the world.

It may seem like ages ago, but it’s only been a month since the Democrats tried to destroy a good man.

We all know the Left used ugly and unprovable allegations to derail the nomination of Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court.

Despite his sterling reputation and respect, the Democrats tried to paint him as a serial rapist. The shocking and despicable attacks destroyed whatever respect the party had left among Americans.

The good news is, Congress hasn’t forgotten. They are getting to the bottom of the many attacks thrown at Kavanaugh.

Now the worst offenders are in the crosshairs of the Justice Department.

Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley on Thursday referred Julie Swetnick and her lawyer Michael Avenatti to the Department of Justice for a possible criminal investigation over allegations they made false statements to Congress about now-Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh.

“I am writing to refer Mr. Michael Avenatti and Ms. Julie Swetnick for investigation,” Grassley wrote in a letter to Attorney General Jeff Sessions and FBI Director Christopher A. Wray, for potential “materially false statements they made to the Committee during the course of the Committee’s investigation. “

Most Americans scoffed at the initial reports of Kavanaugh’s attempted assault. The stories dated back almost 40 years and were entirely uncorroborated.

Yet the left-wing media preached them as fact.

Democrats tried to pile on, hoping the mountain of wild evidence would be too much to examine.

Creepy Stormy lawyer Michael Avenatti and his client went way too far though, claiming Kavanaugh did terrible things to women in college.

The ridiculous attack was acknowledged as a fake almost immediately.

Avenatti and his client tried to derail a major Judicial process, over lies. Congress doesn’t take that too calmly.

All the Democrats are guilty of their lies and treachery. But Avenatti and his client are some of the worst.

Avenatti has made a career out of trying to undermine President Trump. He’s proven to have zero credibility or integrity.

And to think, he once claimed to want to run for president! Well, those aspirations are shattered right about now.

Swetnick will be faced with justice over her wild smears. Kavanaugh will, hopefully, get his reputation back.
