The investigation of Special Counsel Robert Mueller continues to move along at a snail’s pace, and the leaks keep coming like a burst dam.
Based on those two facts alone, Mueller is running a witch hunt against Trump, not an effective investigation.
Congress is done with letting Mueller run his witch hunt while protecting Democrats for their corruption, so they are finally taking action, and Hillary, Obama, Comey and Lynch are in their crosshairs.
If the House Judiciary GOP has its way, we will have another investigation to compare and contrast efficiencies and find what Mueller has been ignoring. Perhaps that will put a little pep in Mr. Mueller’s step.
The Daily Wire reports on this long overdue request:
In a Tuesday-published press release, 14 Republicans requested a “second special counsel to investigate unaddressed matters that appear to be outside the scope of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation.”
The press release was complemented by a letter that was dropped on Attorney General Jeff Sessions and Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein.
The letter specifically calls out the missteps of fired FBI director James Comey, as well as the fact that the whole thing was treated as ‘nothing to see here.
The letter describes the Obama administration’s refusal to meaningfully investigate Clinton’s felonious conduct as a violation of the rule of law:
The nation’s top law enforcement officials … conspired to sweep the Clinton ‘matter’ under the rug … [confirming] that there is, truly, one system for the powerful and politically well-connected, and another for everyone else.
In the end, Republicans may finally get the bad actors of 2016 that are obviously guilty and need only to be prosecuted:
House Judiciary Committee Republicans called on the Justice Department to appoint a special counsel to investigate actions taken by Obama Administration officials like former Attorney General Loretta Lynch, FBI Director James Comey, and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
There’s a school of thought that suggests that Clinton’s failure to reach the White House amounts to enough punishment. That’s wildly off the mark.
If there was in fact a lot of wrongdoing that was essentially brushed under the carpet, that will further embolden other political heavyweights to change the rules as they see fit
We simply can’t have that for our nation, and it’s time to put this matter to rest once and for all – after an investigation that tells us ‘what happened,’ of course.
